Wine Club Summit is a Great Success
San Rafael, CA - January 16, 2007 - Over 100 wineries from across
the U.S. and Canada converged at the 2007 Wine club Summit at the Marin Center in San
Rafael. Speakers covered a variety of topics including shipping, compliance, wine clubs,
tasting room strategies and more.
One of the liveliest events was in the last session of the day when the a panel of wine club
customers provided direct feedback to the attendees. Winery representatives took advantage
of the opportunity to gather feedback and the customer insight. The panel reported that
they like the personal touch and that the financial discount of wine clubs are important
but customer service and meeting the people behind the scenes counts for more. A chance
to learn about the industry from the wine makers and ask about the current challenges
and topics may just be the key to long-term loyalty in wine clubs.
A handful of select companies exhibited at the conference. Shippers were represented by UPS,
FedEx and GSO. All were positioned to educate and provide unique benefits to the wine
industry. Gift items to add to the profitability of tasting rooms were represented
by companies as far away as Iowa. The Rhythm of Color representatives came in providing

Sarah Nelson, owner of The Rhythm of Color said it was a long way to come but the
interest levels were high. Software and services were represented by Elypsis and

When the day began we never stopped providing demonstrations stated Theresa Dorr,
